Governing on Openness / Athens, Thessaloniki, Hong Kong
#postSnowden_era (7:00)
We could understand the situation as parallel worlds, one where things appear normal and in order, another one with complicated relations where we have often to react proactively. It is important for citizens to act in favor of more open governance at all levels.
#Hong_Kong (11:30)
China and Hong Kong has an amazing dynamic, forms the center of a globalised economy. An experience of openness for companies acting there, in contradiction (?) with the political situation or labour conditions.
#Thessaloniki (16:30)
Open goverrnment as active participation, direct democracy, we have both the tools and methodologies to achive this. We need to built on the idea of "living differently" in all our life's spectrum (public or private, business or civil) in order to understand their constant interconnections.
#business_models on open_data (25:10)
Discussing on the examples of brainbox.gr as a sharing bike service and infrastructure, in Greece and elsewhere, with a model of based on open / maps / geodata / APIs. A farmer association (venusgrowers.gr) applying open procedures, methodologies and "always change" management principles in a very succesful product.
#Athens (32:40)
The platform of synathina.gr of the Municipality of Athens aims to reinforce the exchange of practices, information and communication between volunteer groups. Over 50 volunteer teams express them in order to organise and disseminate actions. It is consists of an example moving form closed policies to active participation, citizen co-decision
#corporate_data (43:10)
Connect the need for open corporate data with a minimum set of data from corporations that use some kind of public resource be it money, debt, or natural resources. In general we need to look on problems and their solutions from a crowdsourcing perspective (the example of crowdpolicy.com) and try to invent and implement new business, participatory, models.

Governing on Openess / Business practices and creative commons
#the US administration roadmap on open government (6:30) The paradigm of the public open health data in US (statistics and measurement) under a strict regulatory framework, combined with the opening up of educational data (Open Access movement).
#creative commons (10:00) The copyleft possibilities come under a variety of solutions / liscences (www.creativecommons.gr). A tool of publishing work in the Internet era that can be used in Greek courts. This summer CC version 4.0 was introduced. Look for more actions in www.openaccessweek.gr
#open data (12:30) Financial data (ex. www.publicrevenue.gr) are available for public control but the idea is to have open data sets and infrastructures that allow for more entrepreneurship. Internet of Things will be key to opening even more data but some kind of regulation is needed. Public sector information access will be key to future actions on open data.
#geodata (25:30) Geodata.gov.gr remains a valid initiative as an open data repository, leading by example, an effort that should be enriched. The data.gov.gr has a limited number of data sets available. However, we need to make sure that the entire lifecycle of opening data
#diavgia, transparency portal (28:30) Strong transparency concept that needs more functionalities and standardisation in processes. It could be used not only for checking on government expenses but also for efficiency and workflow procedures.
#public_private_partnerships (36:40) Open data coming from sensors that were installed during the Olympic Games and are used for navigation information, traffic, road incidents. These initiatives could be thought as new type of public private infrastructure. The continuous reuse is very important on opening data and their sustainability. Discussion on the role of amateurs, companies and SLAs on revenue generating schemes.
#social media in the hiring procedure (46:40)

Governing on openness (GonO) / Football, basketball, data
Listen @prodromos, Hatzopoulos on foot(basket)ball governance, conditions of openness in data
#internet_governance (6:00)
The postSnowden era is one with discussions on new Internet Governance structures, new international protagonists on open governance but, also, an apparent desillusion on Internet freedom and neutrality. In this context micropolitics, unexpected politics, reappear in several occasions. They consist of myriads of micro actions that become invented or reinvented under a concrete political need, an effort to adress a certain social, economic, problem.
#arab_revolts (11:30)
The arab revolts have been celebrated as a set of examples challenging mechanisms of surveillance and control of the Internet. Many other practices that were invented there are not looked upon (more on Networked revolts, www.re-public.gr/en/?cat=710)

#Internet Governance (5:00)
Mainly through the Snowden revelations, we came to realise that surveillance is not only about controlling the present but also drawing and combining information from the past. The NSAs of the world can not remain out of citizens' and civil society watch (Serbia, elawyer.blogspot.gr/2013/10/blog-post_9.html?m=1) although there is no EU legal regulation helping this.
#transparency_Greece (13:10)
The Clarity programme (diavgeia) is a breaking ground initiative on trasparency issues in Greece. The recent proposals for changes from the Ministry in charge (www.opengov.gr/minreform/?p=1153) sparkled a public debate on the scope and effectiveness of the related laws and platform.
#digital_administration (18:50)
The core initiatives behind open government include "simple", straightforward changes lie the ones diavgeia provoked. What is the (electronic) document today, what is the distinction with a copy, how should we think on digitisation of public administration procedures ?
#anti_corruption efforts (28:00)
Anti corruption telephone line and other action from transparency greece (www.transparency.gr/diafaneiatora/t…mmi-ipostirixis).
#service_culture (33:20)
The KEP (one stop public administration for citizens) experience is regressing with no further simplification of procedures. Citizen's space handling and presentation complaints from the City of Athens Ombudsman (www.cityofathens.gr/symparastatis/node/515)
#ogp (56:00)
